The Initiative projects in Tunisia are in line with an approach initiated by Initiative France in 2012, in Médenine and in partnership with Mercy Corps Tunisia. The establishment of Initiative is built on the concept of Initiative France, whose general objective is to transfer the methodology, quality standards, ethical principles and mode of governance of Initiative France with a view to achieving ownership of the concept and autonomy of the platform.

The objectives of these projects are to spread the concept of the Initiative platform in Tunisia. These local platforms, in the form of associations, provide free human and financial support for entrepreneurs in their territory. After the creation of Initiative Médenine, another platform was created in Gafsa and two other platform projects are launched in Kasserine and Sidi Bouzid. While retaining their territorial anchorage and independence, they have federated within the national network Initiative Tunisia.
